Eglinton LRT Update!
Petitions have been posted inside the Latvian Centre and distributed to the area businesses and residents. To date we have received more than 750 signatures. THAT EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS. There is a demonstrated need for these stops and it is heartening that all of us in the neighbourhood are eager to work with one another to see the TTC revise its plan.
Inside I have added some files for your information. Councillor Dennis Minnan-Wong has called a public meeting to consider the consultants’ report on the LRT line, and public input is welcome. If you want to address the meeting, please see the details, you must register your intention the day before. Also, you’ll find the Consultants’ briefing points and accompanying diagrams backing their position on the Swift/Credit Union stops. The TTC Eglinton Crosstown LRT Transit Project Assessment Study is now also on file.
Upon completion of the LRT, the TTC is planning to eliminate our Credit Union/Swift Drive stops. On January 14, 2010, The TTC held an open house here and outlined their plan. The LCCC board will meet again February 1 to discuss the inclusion of our stops. Before then, please sign our petition asking the TTC to keep them. The petition is located in the Centre’s lobby.
