The Latvian Arts and Crafts Association in Canada was established in 1953 as a means of drawing together the many Latvian artisans living in the Toronto area. Their skills currently include weaving, embroidery, knitting, spinning, felting, quilting, jewellery making, wood carving, traditional straw work, pottery and stained glass making. The artwork focuses and builds upon the cultural and ethnographic heritage of Latvian art, techniques and symbols.

New members are welcome and given the opportunity to learn new techniques in the context of Latvian textile crafts.  The group exhibits its work throughout the Latvian Canadian Cultural Centre and at special shows within the Latvian and Canadian communities.

The group meets on designated Saturday mornings in the craft room at the Latvian Centre. Contact Zinta Enzelins for dates.

The annual membership fee is $10 for members and includes participation in classes.
